This is my latest painted figure. Verlinden 90mm Viking Warrior (kit #2044).

As usual I'm did abit of conversion - head. As seen pic A, the original kit with head with helmet sculpted together with torso... The unique Viking visor of the helmet cover looks smart but cover up most of the face. That's the reason why I've decided to do the head conversion. I would like show the face of the figure which may bring some character to the figure.
Pic B show the original head cut from the torso. Note I've also carved out head to get the helmet (drilled the visors) which didn't captured in pgoto. Pict C shows the initial sculpting of the new head. Pict D detail sculpted. Pict E is the completed face sculpt. Pict F side view of the face sculpt. Pict G hair added, and wire as braided hair. Pict H is the completed new head.

I've got my hand on a new set of vellejo paint (thanks to Sonny)... and using this figure as test subject to gain experience hanling this new media (previously I've been using a mix of Tamiya acharlycs and poster water colour).
So, these are the results:

Back view: showing the painted and weathered shield.

Note that the original kit chain mail sculpt are not that good. They're not deep enough at some area (mainly those under the belt)... I've a lot of trouble painting these chain mail with these fussy chain mail... which remind me our friend Beachbum once "warn" me to look for a good sculted chain mail figure to paint. Or else you'll be having a nightmare.

The painted face.

The kit come with a really nice resin base. Broken stone cross sculted with nice detail.

As usual, enjoy and comment pls...
