wow Marcel that was a nice suprise when i visited the site tonight to see how this little fellow is looking so far, i thought you did a great job on the face first time round but this is even better, really like the look of the belts so far.

Remeber mate there is no rush for this figure to be finished so you take all the time you want mate, i am really happy with the progress so far.

All the best mate,

Steve

Engin, Mark and Steve thanks for the positive comments! I'm glad I started again, had a great time working on the face.

Steve: I'm more satisfied with the face colors now, the belts need still a lot of blending. Next will be adding the cross on the surcoat and finish the white color. Lot's of work to do. I know you aren't in a hurry but I have to finish it. If it's to long on the workbench I may loose the interest, but I have some other figures that are standing on my workbench much longer.
But these are for 2010.

Cheers,
Marcel.

Here a small update because the progress is slow.
Finished the protection flap around the neck and did some more work on the belts. Added the helmet and now I will start weathering the helmet and chainmail. And after that I return to work on the surcoat.

Cheers,
Marcel.

It's already while ago since my last update but just don't have enough time to model and I have too many projects on the bench. Well the last days I was working on the surcoat of this fellow. Deepening the shadows and blending all the transitions. The frontside is now finished (more or less) the backside still needs some more work. The sword and shield are primed and ready to paint. More will follow soon, here some pictures.

Cheers,
Marcel.

Thanks Steve!
I'm also still struggling to get a good contrast. And the higher the contrast the more difficult the blending part gets.
The gloves are almost done now, up to the sword. More pics when I can find time to shoot some photos.

Cheers,
Marcel.

Thanks Paul for your compliments!

Well here is another update. I finished the sword and are almost done with the gloves. And some additional work on the leather belts was done. Furthermore I made a start with the groundwork. The shield is base coated and will follow in the next step together with the metal parts.

Here are the pics:

just popped in to check the site and saw the progress you have made mate and it just gets better and better. i like the colour choice for the gloves i wouldnt have thought of such light shade for leather as i always tend to go for the deeper colours, this colour suites the figure very well.

All the best mate,

Steve

Steve, that's funny. The light color gloves was the first thing I thought of when I saw the sculpture. Still have to work a bit on the seamlines.

Cheers,
Marcel.

Finally I finished the figure yesterday evening and took some pictures. I changed my photo setup so I still have to practice a bit. After finishing the figure I added mud and some blood stains to the surcoat and legs. I also added some melting snow to the basework ( well I tried) . The wooden base needs to be replaced for a suitable one.
Here are the final pictures of the figure.

Thanks for looking and comments are welcome!

Cheers,
Marcel.

Watching every step was great pleasure on this built and final is absolutely excellent. The only thing; my eyes looked for the same cross symbol on the shield but there must be a reason you did not paint it.
congrats my friend and congrats to Steve for the sculpt.

Thanks a lot for the compliments Engin, Steve and Frank!!

Engin: Most of the time you see indeed also a cross on the shield also. At first there was also a cross planned on the shield until I found a different shield design in Osprey Warrior Templar Knight. And after some feedback from Steve we decided to choose for a black and white shield as shown on the picture.

Cheers,
Marcel.

As I stated before,I knew there must be a reason you did not paint it my friend. I think Steve should sculpt more figures like that and you should paint.
best regards
