Did you have any specific reference material for that particular tank? I'm building Dragon's AIM kit, and am planning on doing the same scheme.

I used the M1 Abrams At War book, excellent reference material. That particular tank is made with Echelon Decals

Thanks Lewis. Is "Courtesy of the Red White, and Blue" actually shown in that book?

I have the Echelon Decal set, just looking for more references of those vehicles from 2nd platoon. For instance, Echelon states that the colored portion of the barrel is either dark green or black. And also says they aren't sure if the weight disks were present on these tanks.

It looks pretty good. A couple pointers though. The tracks are way too loose. If you remove a couple track links,they should fit well. Abrams track is tight and should have no slack in them. The ring around the rear sprockets is no longer used on US Army tanks. They were taken off about the time of ODS ('90-'91) when the tracks changed from T156 chevron block to T158 square block. You also have the wrong .50 cal mount on the TC's hatch. The version you have on it is only used on M1A2s, not M1A1s. I agree that the straps holding the stowage on the turret are too wide as well. Also, how are they held on? Ther are no clips or buckels, etc. Overall a good effort, it just needs some tweaks and it will be great.

very nice work on the tank. i like the packaging tapes all over the the turret.

This was my tank from 2003.. I mean literally I was the tank commander and I was the one who painted the barrel and hand wrote the "Red, White and Blue" by hand with a sharpie. Contact me if you have questions or would like to see more pictures.

Very nice finish and weathering. Looks like the main sight optics need to be painted in still, and the protective flaps are missing?
