On Monday I will be posting off a boking form for the first show to be held at the Elvington Museum, the home of the Halifax, and many more wonderful exhibits. Most of you know what Cosford is like, with traders and club stands in amongst the exihbits, well this one promises to be equally as good, if not on the same scale. I'm not certain that the stands are in with the exhibits, but the museum stuff is there to see as a great extra.
Elvington Model Show
Sunday 15th August 2010
Elvington Aircraft Museum
Halifax Way
Elvington, Near York
YO41 4AU
I have asked for 4 tables 4 chairs + power.
Nige and I are going and Harri plans on going and, hopefully, to take some air cadets with him.
Post here if you plan to go.
I think that this show has taken over from the Aeroventure show, as it's been organised by the same person, Martin Blundell.
See you there.

Great, the forms went off today, I have asked for power and 6 chairs.
This is just at the right time for me, the week end after I get back off my hols
We need sheets or some sort of table covering. Not a problem if no one has anything as I'll buy a couple of sheets. I'd prefer not to though
See ya there

I have just got back from my hols
There was an email from Martin Blundell, the organiser, waiting for me as he hadn't recieved my reply and asking me to phone him, which I did straight away. Tables, chairs and power are confirmed and he is sending me 4 set up passes.
I'm not sure how it works but I'll be having one, which leaves 3 (my maths are improving
) I would assume that you will have to have a pass to get in free to set up? So 2 going together will be fine for 2 of them (Derek has the stand and is bringing Baz so I guess 2 for Derek?)
I will try phoning Martin tomorrow and ask for another, if he hasn't posted them already, then I can send 2 to Nige for him and Andy.
Anyone else?
Mal

Errrrr, sorry Sam and I
I have got 5 passes coming.
Derek will need 2, as he has the stand, I will need 1 as I aim to be first there. So the other 2 can be claimed by any pair who are aiming to be there for set up time. I'm not sure what that time will be, but I'm aiming for around 07.30ish.
Harri can't now make it, he has adirty week end planned

Neil - You're just up the road from us, we live in Grimsby.
Mal - We were planning on a 0800-0830 arrival if that's any help. Mind you I could always get Sam to flutter her eyelashes and smile sweetly to get us in through a back door
It worked for Telford Last Year.
Nige - I think Sam not being able to walk very far with her dodgy leg might trump you P-47 and I don't think Mal has asked for enough tables to display that monster

Ooops, you must have replied before I could finish mine Allen
Derek, what time are you planning on getting there?
I'm thinking that if Derek and Baz are getting there early I'll send them a pair of passes, I'll need 1, so I'll send 1 to Nige and one to Allen. If Derek isn't going early I'll send 2 to Allen. So if you are 2s up in a car with one pass you may have to plead your case, which probably won't be a prblem
I know I have had your address Derek but can send it me again please, I thought that I had saved it but I only seem to have Allen's and Nige's.

Maybe if Sam did her best Lady Godiva impression we could all get in while they are distracted...

Derek, got your address.
As Sam and Allen are aiming for 0800-0830, I think I'll send them 2 passes (they may have Neil as well), and send 1 to Derek and Nige. If we are in phone contact those in first can possibly meet later arrivals and hand over passes? I'll also try and have a word with martin when I arrive, to see if getting in will be a problem without a pass.
looking forward to this

OK guys and gals I have the passes however with them came a letter stating:
"We would ask you to wear these at all times during the show". This is fine but it had me wondering if everyone attending had to have a pass, so I have just rang Martin. Basically if you have a pass you get in free, if not IPMS members (with IPMS card) pay £5.??, anyone else it's the normal £8.??
Elvington are looking to ioncrease revenue, which is the reason for them hosting the show. Personally I will be paying my £5. If I had know about this I would have suggested that we waiver the passes and all pay the IPMS entry fee.
So if you want a pass I will send you one. We are the only club to have 5 passes, so I would like to only issue 4. Be quick in replying as It may take a couple of days for the passes to reach you.
Set up is at 08.00 and the public are being let in at 10.00. Show closes at 16.00 and we are asked to vacate by 17.00.
See ya there.
