I need to start cases for scavenged loot. I'm takign suggestions for recovered items...well besides Twinkies, beer, smokes, soft drinks, and toilet tissue....those are obvious.

Hermon, Thanks. I'm really building this thing on the fly. Each trip to the spares boxes has me finding all kinds of stuff, like that winch from a M16 Halftrack or those two 57mm recoiless rifles.

Justin, I like what you did with the tires. Body looks really clean. I'll be interested to see this one build up.

Charlie, Thanks. Boring? Just remember that in a zombie apocalypse one does not need to be the fastest, just do not be the slowest. And that elevation, it'll be like a mobile bunker....zombie crushing mobile.

Big grip, Thanks. I'm using this as an excuse...err opportunity to liquidate some of my spares boxes.

Looks good all. Happy hunting.

I'm starting to think that mine may end up being quite tame after seeing these first few and hearing about some others, but here's the start.

Started life as an AFV Club M35A2....gave it a bit of a stretch for starters. I had thought about making it a bit wider, but soon realized that stretching the length was enough of a pain in the a$$ lol. The wheels in the top right of the first pic are the treads of choice for this. From DML's scud kit.

Had to make 2 new driveshafts, stretch all 6 of the....axle stabilizer, suspesion arm...whatchamadoozits.... all because of the new road bling.

and had to make new leaf springs(which look awful IMO)

Will be very up-armored, haven't decided what its packin yet.....
I think I'm going for the "stolen from a military depot and modded with what was laying around" look....

Enjoy,
Clint

Ok, here's my humble beginnings...take one 1/24 revell renault truck kit, one set aside 8x4 frame that I built for something{now I know what!} and add some scratched other stuff. shake and let's see what falls out...more to come!

I'm rather glad I made the 4 wheel steering workable even though I have a feeling alot of it will be covered up....My plan, at the moment, is to make a "Mobil Command rig"...I was really trying to come up with some "mattracks" of sorts for this ride but that'll have to be for something else I guess. My other plans are to rework this renault into a mack magnum...I'm going out on a limb here with the idea that the grill area will be totally something else though-

Hermon / Damian, holy smoke I have seen more build ideas and techniques in two weeks than in the past two years here. This campaign is a gold mine of a melding of the minds & ideas. Albeit maybe for a ghoulish life style but man
where are we heading what comes out of our efforts may help with other areas of the hobby. Build on every one and thanks for all of the free and spectacular inovations. ya'll have given me new inspiration.

Thanks guys
@bob that's where I'm getting inspiration from for the general shape but everything else is coming out of my head while I build.I'm beginning to scare myself

Charlie, weren't you gonna start up your own country......"Wegmanville"......or something like that? Hell, why don't we all just move there and ban zombies? It'd be easier than running around scrounging supplies and building hellmobiles.

ps: What are the yearly dues for residents of Wegmanville and do you accept paypal? I may be interested in a cabinet position soon.

And I shall retain control of the keys to said liquor cabinet.

Gotta stay sober boys. To many zombies to kill.

Trying to order the 12 offroad tires I need for my beast...where's my ebay connection when I need him?! Hopefully SK can come thru for me! I've been eyeballing the dual front suspension on mine...maybe all wheel drive might be possible...maybe! Transfer case - easy...way offset front axles...not so much!{unless I tear my nice frame apart and hike up the heck outta her for driveline clearance and then to have a hassle for 5th wheel height}.
Next issue are;
- "motor-vation"...what motor to stick in there!
- body color...military or not?
- had a fleeting thought about a B double trailer set-up where the front trailer has it's 2 or 3 wheels under the rear trailer's 5th wheel. Looks cool but I have no real idea how to pull it off actually.
- armament...I had to pick "1/25" scale didn't I?!{lack of anything in the way of weapons}...a scratching I will go, a scratching I will go.....

1. Cummins. Never trust your life to anything less.
2. Green or black........cause it's just right.
3. Too complicated. Would probably just get more body parts caught up in it all
4. Drinking straw = Big ass cannon.

Hermon, First of all, my ego's not that big with the name thing. Besides, we'd have to have an Army if we called it Wegmanville. Way too fluffy. I'd actually like a cool or unusual name. One of the neatest I've run across is a town NW of here called Cut and Shoot. Why? because you had to cut your way in and shoot your way out. Something like Monaco, or the Bahamas, or Hawaii, or Margaritaville. This is going to be a "destination" (and a big monetary safe-haven). We want the rest of the world to come visit, leave all their money, then just leave. EL JEFE HAS SPOKEN!

The bank would be state owned so that, along with the Casinos and supporting businesses eliminate the need for personal taxes. You just have to pass enough tests to prove you're a decent human being (that would eliminate most Lawyers, Ex-Wives, Politicians, and Zombies). Citizenship would be limited and you can't buy your way in. After all, this place is going to be half the size of Rhode Island or smaller with a permanent population of about 2500 tops. All citizens would be part of the government so we keep it nice and tidy. No scrounging supplies and per your recommendation we shall ban all Zombies (except around Halloween and the annual Redneck Hunting Season). It's all in the brochure. EL JEFE HAS SPOKEN!

Hey, this is the fun part!...we must build{rebuild?} the future of mankind.

Hey Bob, Let us know how it's going. We'll be doing something not nearly as fun like deep sea fishing, racing around our replica of the Nurburgring, or sitting on the beach drinking and watching the last of the scantily clad hot chicks parade around... but our thoughts and prayers will be with you! EL JEFE HAS SPOKEN!

Damian, Your on the beach with your own cabinet! No Zombies=No prohibition. EL JEFE HAS LEFT THE BUILDING!

Bob,
Motor: I'm with Hermon on the motor. A Cummins or Ford Powerstroke Diesel (Biofuels made from Zombie parts).
Body Color: As for color, I thought Zombies were color-blind!? Fluorescent Orange roof for air ID and grass or trees or parts of buildings on the side to blend in with the surroundings.
Multiple Axle setup: Again agree with Hermon. KISS it. Don't want it breaking down constantly.
Weapon: How about a GAU-8 Avenger? A little plastic, some brass tubing, a plastic shape from the scrap bin for a turret, a big ammo can (tub), and you're good to go. Stops the Zombie wave attacks cold and looks downright mean!

EL JEFE!... I mean Charlie

Charlie, that second pic is so sexy it's border line pornography.

Every state has it's own official tree, so I nominate the Vulcan as the state tree for our new country.

Bob, we're non-drinkers (except for the couple half gallons of white lightening we use to make cough medicine).......but you're more than welcome to a glass of the wifes iced-T. You can have as many of the wheels you want, just leave me enough for my monster Pete zombie killer.

Hermon I dont drink alcohol either never aquired a taste, the rx that I take does not mix well. Can't stand cough rx or nose spray. But home made tomato juice, gatorade, apple cider, grape juice, and a trip to the store for some diet Coke/Pepsi is my treat for the week. I may take you up on the Iced - T since I presume that it is southern sweet tea? I tried to put on paper some of the ideas that were lingering in that empty cavern on my shoulders of what I wanted to accomplish but did not get to do any thinking

We have a rolling chassis folks and the cab is attached - lots more to do yet though-

...yes, it's CAT powered{I live in aurora where there's a CAT plant...gotta support the home team!}...a 3406b to be exact that's been gone thru by Great Lakes American Diesel- 725hp at 1800rpm, 964cu in, and 8.2-9.2mpg. I'm going to try my hand at detailing the motor....we'll see how that goes!
Next up will be adding the radiator and starting the front end and side skirts, then moving on to the back steer wheel covers...probably boxed in with the rest of the side skirting.

I reeeeally like where your going with this one Bob. The dual steering is way cool. You may want to rethink the rubber bands though. If the zombies bite their way through'em you truck may fall apart.

Cuda, look closely mate, those bands are actually a very clever weapon. When the Zombies chew through they whip around and take a whole bunch of heads clean off. Awesome innovation Bob, nicely done !!

1) thank you
2) shaddup - rubberbands or not, it's better than your current rendering...oh, were you building one?!{hahaha}
3) if I snap you with a rubber band it would hurt, but as Damian said, snap a lil 1/25 scale critter and it's toast...I shall ponder the finishing of the build sans rubber bands... ...spose duct tape is out too, huh?
Hmmmmm...where's my 4"x5' moving rubber band at...wonder if I could snap hermon from here?
