Hi

This is my first posting to HF but I wanted to share my recently completed Roman 1/16 scale model by miniart. It is the second large figure I have done and the first time I attempted the use of oil paints.

You may see that the shield does not have its decal on, that is thanks to my 16 month old son. I actually thought the shield looks nice without any further adornment so I decided to use artistic licence and leave it blank.

I used polyfillar and my son's duplo blocks to make the base and ice cream sticks and polyfiller to make the wall. The two pillars are cake decorations and the potplants old medicine containers with some polyfiller. The plants are from an plastic artificial grass mat.

The design of the mosaic on the floor is based on a picture I found online and the dog also. The "cave Canem" is on the original and is loosely translated as "beware of the dog". Why worry about the dog if you have a legionaire guarding your door!

Comments are welcome.
