Hey Fred, you are most welcome to drop this build into the 2013 SIG Group Build if you want, hangar queens are featuring prominently there!
If you would prefer to finish it here I will throw a ribbon for this Group Build your way anyway.
Cheers, D

What? June 17, _2013_? Already? Yeah. I'm turning the lights back on over this thread. The group build may be over, ribbons distributed, beers long since finished and confetti all swept up but I haven't given up on my bird!
Plus I can't very well join the next build before I finish the Jug still on the bench so, with no where else to post this stuff, I'll just post progress shots here.
Cheers,
Fred

Thanks Torsten. I'm only running slightly late with this one
I had a couple of hours at the bench last night so while the decals dried on this one I filled the airbrush bottle with Interior Green and painted a pile of parts and sub-assemblies for my 2013 P-47 and my P-70 for the Nightfighters Campaign. Now I can crack on with some detail painting and further assembly.
Cheers, D

That looks great, Damian!
I love these colourful birds, no matter if it's a P-47, P-38 or something else. That's something you don't see on todays "Low Viz" grey in grey "noise makers" .... errr .... jets.
I hope to present some first progress pics of my Jug in the 2013 GB soon .....

Okay we're getting somewhwere now, I masked and painted the yellow stripes, anti-glare panel and red nose, and most of the markings are on . . . . .

I made a slight error on the port side markings, the very top of the letters of "Hun" should actually be overlapping onto the OD anti-glare, but after I applied the decal and tried to slide it up slightly it started to break up. They decided to stay exactly where they are, and who am I to argue ?
Anyway, wing markings, clear flat coat, a few touchups and detail paint spots, attach the wheels and "whoosh-bang" stuff, and I'm there. Will I make the deadline ? Hmmm, perhaps not.
Hey, where'd everybody go ?

Better late than never, they always say ! I'm not sure who "they" are, but they are correct in this case. My sincere apologies for the delay in getting this ribbon awarded, but personal time has been very rare for me for months now.
Anyway, on to the official ceremony, I have been through the (very few) pages of this thread and found only three completed builds, so I have awarded ribbons to Jesper (SGTJKJ), Darren (DIckerson) and Simon (Krismax). Well done gentlemen and thanks for your contribution! If anybody else finished their kits for this Group Build, even after the end date, please let me know.
I am actually working on finishing my build at the moment, so I will post pics here as I progress.

Hi guys. I am very happy to let you know that my wife and I have a very healthy baby boy, born last Tuesday October 30, and we named him Darcy.
I am now on annual leave for a couple of weeks so I am hoping to get time not only play with my new son, but also to finish my build and award ribbons to those who completed theirs.
Once again I apologise for my lateness here.
Cheers, D

You and me both mate! A thousand apologies for my AWOL behaviour, real life has a firm grip on me right now and I have had zero bench time. I will attempt to get a ribbon designed soon so that I can award those few who have finished their builds, and one day in 2013 when Lampie and I return to the fold I will throw one at each of us as well.
BTW it is only a matter of days now until Aussiereg Jr arrives, I will keep you updated.
Cheers, D.

I cannot seem to find the album for completed models. Are ribbons awarded based on the photos in this tread?

Thanks for the comment, Damian.
You will run close to the finish line on this one.
I have added almost all the decals now. Probably the most colorful Jug I have ever seen. There are cartoons and names all over the fuselage.
More to follow soon.

I have the major assembly complete on my build, some sanding then ready for paint.
Cheers, D

I have made a little more progress on my P-47. The main construction is finished. Next is painting of the base colors: OD and medium grey.

Hi guys. Sorry for my absence lately, real life has taken it's toll on my hobby time in a BIG way. I have been promoted into a higher management position at work, and my wife and I are expecting an arrival in about 7 weeks, so I'm sure you can understand
Simon and Darren, superb work guys. Both builds look great.
Simon, I love the subtle streaking on the wings, what did you use there?
Darren, I'm with Jesper, that nose art is a winner. I'm very glad to see you give the Kitsworld decals 9/10, I have a couple of sets for my P-61's waiting in the stash. Great job with the variations on the panels as well.
Well, I'm not sure when I will get time to go further with my build, but I'm really hoping to get it done within the time frame we have left.
Cheers, D

Great builds, guys!
Simon, I really love that color scheme. The candy stripes really sets it apart.
Fantastic nose art, Darren. I really like them... I mean it
