Alrighty... After seeing Stickframes' start on his shop, It;s inspired me to get moving on one I've been thinking about for some time.

Here's the start of a Radial Drill

Along with a build I started a few years ago (based on the old ECSI kits, so as to not waste them) A 6x6 HMMVW with a "redneck" trailer going for a PAW salvage/recovery crew feel on this one.

I'm not totally sure where everything is going as of yet. It's more of a multi-use factory base with misc. stuff to put in & around it.

Hi Matt - glad to see you've got this post up and running!

As this moves along, what do you want to do with the parts? Is this going to be a heavy machine shop? Repair shop? Looks fairly modern....the big lowboy etc

The hmmwv 6x 6 is cool....you've set up lots to think/wonder about....

Ok - keep posting! Interested in seeing what you'll do with all this stuff!

I've just got so many ideas running thru my head right now. I may just make a bunch of pieces and see where it falls together.

The HMMWV, my general idea is listed above.... where exactly it's going IDK yet.

I'm almost headed with a multi-use base idea. Make it a photo / display base that could have the stuff in it interchanged Just too may ideas running around.

Hey Matt - nice! So your material inventory is getting bigger - you're going to have to decide what to build one of these days - I know you've done the research, so I'm curious to see what you choose to do

It's been a catch-22 Basement was a mess because of the work in the crawlspace (that's all cleaned up now) I need to get some of the garage cleaned up so I can start cutting down the foam for the walls. So in the meantime I'll grab the 10 mins here 15 there I can to work on what I can. Hopefully tonight I can use the mold for the machine parts for the first time.

I wound up with 2 sets of frames for his custom minimum. I just need to figure out how to age/dirty the acetate I'll use for the glass.

I've gotta get going on the Build-a-tool campaign projects as well.... LOL

I managed some bench time over the weekend. Here's a quick mockup of the Radial Drill

Couple more update pics from limited bench time this weekend:

As you can see I'm waiting on putty to dry.... then fine, sand & repeat for a while.

Not sure what to start on next... horizontal lathe, turret (vertical) lathe, one of the several different types of milling machine(s)

Matt great minds think alike. It would seem that machine shops are in vogue right now which is awesome because the duo I have wanted to do since my return to building is in fact a plant style dio as well. So I will be scrounging and gleaning much intel from you and Nick.

While my setting will be mid war Germany the general look and feel will be part of mine, when I finally complete the one I'm currently on that is.

Your scratched drill is looking good so far.
Good start I'de say.
