Why does the Achilles kit have counter weights? It doesn't look like a plane....

Looks like some good stuff anyways.

I wouldn't call them counter weights as they are not there to balance anything. They are there (as far as I can tell) because although Tamiya has grudgingly given up on the metal hulls they dont want to admit that the extra weight thing was not a terribly useful idea. At least not for me.

I think they are using an ICM Pak36(r) ..nice gun kit.

One is clearly marked on the front of the box as "Large Turret Counterweight". The other 4 go in the lower hull to add weight as you say. Making a small light-weight kit a little more weighty seems like a good idea to me.
