She looks gorgeous,
D.! The chrome lines accentuate superbly the ready to jump panther look of this car. I'm hooked!

The scary thing Jesper, my first two completed builds for 2020 will both be Hemi, two of my best finished builds, and honestly two kits that have gone together beautifully. Even the clear parts have fitted neatly in place.
I think I need to start another 3 or 4 old Chevy kits to regain my inner peace
Thanks for the feedback all, much appreciated.
Cheers, D

Well the '67 Charger is done. Decals drying overnight and then I will deposit it beside the '71 Cuda in the display cabinet.
This was a great kit to build, neat fit (yes, even the clear parts gave no trouble) and no moulding problems.

Now to get the '67 GTO back on the bench and completed!
Cheers, D
EDIT: Looking at the photos, I need to tidy up the PLW in a few places. There's always something!

Very nice finish. That front grille shot angle really expresses attitude!

D,
The Charger really looks fantastic. And boy does it bring back a lot of great memories.
See, there is quality car modeling besides those Bowtie Chevys.

Excellent paint job on this one!

D,
I just took another look at your Charger, especially the chrome trim that you did with BMF, and I have to say that it's absolutely perfect looking.

Many thanks Joel, I did take quite a few hours on the trim BMF on this one. There were a few spots where there was an inevitable "slip of the knife" which needed to be touched up by hand, but definitely nothing major, and because these spots are very close to the trim they don't really show up in the photos (thankfully).
I'm looking forward to getting the GTO back on the bench, but I want to make some more progress on the '55 Pro-Sports, and finish up a 1/48 P-47, before it reappears.
Cheers, D

Ok, with the '55 Pro Sports and P-47 completed for other Group Builds, I'm pulling the '67 Goat back to the bench to see if I can finish it off before the "Dreams Are Free" Group Build starts up in October.
I gave the shell a fine wet sand today and checked for any major defects, it's ready for another couple of shots of Alclad Candy Red then I'm probably going to clear it with Alclad Aqua Gloss.

Looking forward to completing this pair 5 years down the track!
Cheers, D

Things you see when you look properly, thanks MPC!
The rims are slightly different but in pairs, so I have put the matching rims together on one side.

How does this get past QC?

D,
The differences are so slight that 95+% of us wouldn't have noticed it. You get more then passing grades from me as I like how the panel wash just added so much depth to wheels.

D., your Charger really came out great, and I like that red on your GTO. That sure is one heck of a hood scoop!

Thanks for the feedback guys, I'm glad you like it!
I gave it another 3 light coats of the Candy Red and focused on the areas where the previous sanding had really showed, and once it was cured it got 3 good coats of Alclad Aqua Gloss.

I'm going to give the body a fine wet polish then it's done and ready for final assembly and BMF chrome. After 5 years, I'm looking forward to getting this one off the WIP list!
Cheers, D

The Candy Red is very cool.
Thanks Michael! It is also very fragile! I gave it a light wet sand and even though it has several good coats of Aqua Gloss, a couple of very small spots of red lifted off. The Silver Candy Base seems to be intact, so perhaps there was a tiny piece of dust between the Silver and Red.
I love the colour, and will definitely use it again on another build, but I might try with a primer beneath the Silver base, or even a different product for the Silver base coat.
Cheers, D

Love the look of that candy red. It's amazing to see the effect light and shadow has on this color.

Yes, well, it
was a nice finish!
I think Alclad need to rethink their instruction that no primer is required under the Silver Candy Base. The masking tape was detacked several times, and removed very slowly sideways back on itself, not upwards. Talk about a tiny bit of paint lifting

This one is going to get a nice caustic bath and some time to think about its behaviour, then I'm going to give it another try with a good MS1500 Black primer and the same paint system and see how it goes.
Meanwhile, back to the '54 Corvette
