The horse came from a Dragon German WW2 cavalry kit. All the original saddle and equipment was removed and the appropriate Austrian equipment added. The figure uses a kit head, hands and boots - all modified. The carbine started as a Mauser rifle and was cut down and modified to suit. I used a mix of MagicSculpt and Kneadatite air-drying putties to sculpt most of the parts.
The Ulan was painted by Roger Newsome, an award-winning painter from Yorkshire.
