Hi, I'm a scale sailplane modeller who has been seduced by the wet side !
I acquired a tatty rc 3 masted topsail schooner which I am gradually improving but the long term project is a French ironclad Le Redoubtable.
Plans for Redoubtable were apparently published in Souvenir de Marine - the six volumes being long out of print.
The Modelshipwright was reprinted a volume of drawings and volume 3 (of 6) but don't have an index on their site.
Frustratingly their Contact Us section of their website doesn't work !!!
Does anyone have their email address please or know if drawings of Redoubtable are contained in their reprints.
Many thanks Paul

Have you tried posting this question in one of the Model Shipwrights forums?

The German publishers VTH sell a plan of the Victoria Louise (as per 1899). I know this is not the ship you are looking for but it is only 21 years younger, launched 1897 vs 1876

They also have the Beowulf from 1892

The French Marceau, launched 1887 (same country and only 11 years younger)

Hi Robin,
thank you for the helpful response.
In fact I eventually succeeded and managed to get a copy of all 3 magazines. The articles are excellent and have drawings that give all the detail that I need - except the armament. It can be seen but really more detail is needed.

The guns were 4 x 27cm 1875 model. 14cm, 65mm 47mm,= and 37mm
But Freench naval armament is a mystery to me !
Any help would be much appreciated.
Many thanks again
Paul

I'm afraid that French 19th century naval armament is outside of my knowledge areas. I can use Google but that's about it
Try asking in the Model Shipwrights forum, that's were the naval enthusiasts hang out.
