Can anyone point me in the right direction for getting a replacement part from Wingnut Wings? If of course they do a spares service.
I need a replacement tail strut for my Rumpler which arrived snapped in the box. I could glue it back together as it isn't load bearing, but I want to at least try getting a new part.

On the subject of spares, Airfix are still the industry leaders in customer care. Revell are also very good.
Dragon however, don't care!

I was surprised to find a large parcel from New Zealand when I got in from work this evening.
Not only did it contain the part I needed, but the entire sprue! I'll certainly be able to use them in future projects.
I'd like a huge thanks to Wingnut Wings for helping me out.

Nice one WNW. I have a different opinion on airfix though had a bad experience when they wanted about a fiver for instructions when in this day and age a pdf file would have been fine

Wow! A fiver for a set of instructions? That's a bit steep. I've never understood why they don't have the instructions as PDF's on the site. Seems to work for Revell.
They've always come through whenever I've needed anything and never asked for a penny. Last year they sorted me out with a set of replacement landing gear struts for their old Sopwith Pup and that kit has been OOP for years. Maybe charging is a new initiative by Hornby?

I don't know how new it is; they charged me for some spare 737 wheels a few years ago. I thought it was fair since I asked for spares to do a conversion with, not for kit part replacements.

It would make a great follow on from the eggplane campaign.
And all of those WW1 kits Revell have reissued would be good donors for parts. They're certainly cheap and plentiful enough.

What was Fokker thinking? I think Blackburn came up with something similar too.
The Austro-Hungarian designers came up with some of the stranger types. Like this aerodynamically challanged beast, the Loyd Luftkreuzer. Not surprisingly, they could never get it to leave the ground!

What I find astonishing about the V.8 is not that Fokker got it to leave the ground briefly, but that he went and did it again.

The more I look at it, the more I want a model of it!
But look at the angle of the wheels and skid relative to the ground, no way would it have generated lift.

Considering that the pilot sat somewhere in the middle of that thing, control would have been a serious issue!
That is an incredible scratch build. I envy modellers who have the skill and time to build projects like that. Some of the best work I've ever seen.
If someone ever released this as a limited run injection, vac or resin I would drop everything and buy it.
