I believe this is a recounting of an actual incident that took place between a P-51D flown by Clarence "Bud" Anderson and an ME 109 in late 1944 or early 1945, at least the circumstances of the action seem almost the same. I think the narrative came form the TV series "Dogfights" on the Discovery Channel a few years back.

Looking at the video, the 109 is a G-6 version...MG131 bulges.
Nice dogfight btw
Cheers,

Thank you!
The KP appears to have a paint scheme very similar to the prototype so, hopefully, that would negate the need to purchase additional decals...I'll go with that one...

The video for Sabaton's epic ballad, 'The Last Stand', shows a Russian/Soviet fighter, which I suspect to be an IL-5 executing a stall-turn or "hammerhead" to get behind a German aircraft, which I suspect to be a Bf-109.
It is a truly amazing scene that begins at 2:11, with the maneuver at 2:35;

Could someone please help me confirm the identity of these aircrafts and direct me to the best 1:72 scale models.
I'm seriously considering reproducing this scene with a pair of models...
Thank you.
