Hey Mates,
here are pictures of my two year old shelf queen

Still a lot to do. Hope I get it finished this year.

Minor update : added the jack blocks and ladder on the side of the panzer IV.
I have very little experience with PE... man isn't it fiddly! But I quite like the results.
Enjoy

Here is my candidate for unfinished business. Academy Panzer IV H4. A terrible kit that I had put away due to frustration several years ago. I know that parts are now missing so I have decided to try my hand at turning it into a destroyed panzer which should Hide some of the missing parts. For some reason its sideways.

Camo done. Wasn't too happy with my first attempt with silly putty masking as it left horrible residue marks - still visible on the port bow deck. It's a bit ropey in places, but I intend to fade/weather/dust quite heavily so I hope it all blends in ok. Still have the unanswered question that I've asked a couple of times as to national insignia (or lack thereof) on vehicles used on Iwo Jima?

A bit of progress :
Front fenders, exhausts and antenna housing are on, as well as all the tools on the left hand side of the panzer IV.
There will be more tools in the next update and there might also be some tracks

I'm in with a Hobby Boss Chinese APC/IFV.
Fun little build and the most hassle free build I've had in a long while.
The tracks just click together and honestly I couldn't tell you why I didn't already polish this one off.
As it stands now.

An overspray of the too light Ammo Mig IDF grey 73
( but I am going to dust and grime the hell out of this one), some gloss later, up on her tracks and started the weathering.
Some Ammo by Mig wash for Dk yellow, a quick blast of hairdryer, and wiped clean.
This thing has been a shelf queen for so long, gently wiping the wash away launched a periscope cover off to the carpet monster dimension...
With the sloppy wash

Wiped with a makeup sponge

I was not expecting very good results when ancient thick Academy decals met riveted skirts, but damn.. Micro Sol does it's job.
I did trim them within an inch of their lives, but the settling over the rivets was a surprise.

Mike,
Nice work with the decal, Micro-Sol is my friend. Used it a lot when putting decals on Panzer I & IIs turrets and hulls. With them being so small there are hardly any flat surfaces.
Again nice work.

Mark,
Thanks I might get to the other side tonight if I get these report cards done.
I've seen the Tamiya compass marking decals on that WWII Brit tank turret (spacing the name now..) and thought, 'There is NO way I could get them to snug down like that', but maybe it is doable.
These Academy decals have HUGE carrier film around them, but as I said, I am pleasantly surprised how well they conformed. Might make me rethink using for decals some tank numbers and markings over zimmerit..

I'll be joining with either a AFV Club M1130 Stryker or a Tristar Panzer IV B.
M1130:
- Need to work on the rear doors, detail on the front and top, weapons and wheels... all this before Primer & Paint.
Panzer IV B:
- Turret is done.
- Wheels are painted, suspension needs to be finished and all the hull details.
I will post some photos soon.
