Iwata Neo TRN1 Needle Screw Question

Hi Everyone,

I have an Iwata Neo TRN1 that the paint was coming back into the trigger area. I tried to tighten it and broke the screw. I bought a new one with a new O ring. I broke it again trying to adjust it. I've tried some different screw drivers with no success.

I've seen the Iwata screw drivers specifically for them but only in a set (expensive). Does anyone have any ideas of other things to use?

Mike,
The needle packing and needle packing screw should not require much torque to adjust. If you have the parts breakdown for the brush, they are items 8&9. These are normally very delicate adjustments. You could have paint in the threads and channel which are preventing those items from moving or seating correctly. Removing the packing and packing screw and soaking that area overnight followed by a thorough cleaning of the area will probably correct the issue and allow smooth install and adjustments.

I have seen people mistake the body screw on the bottom of the airbrush for the needle packing adjustment. Not saying that’s the case with you, but I thought I’d mention it.
