Had a bit of spare time when I got back in from work, so thought I would take advantage of the remaining daylight and dry weather to get a coat of paint on the BoP. I settled on Vallejo 71305 Interior Grey-Green. I think it looks good in that colour, fits in with the TOS colour pallete.

Please excuse the rocks. They're just to stop the cardboard blowing around in the breeze. Although they do make good asteroids!

Hope you get over there soon Stephen, by what I've seen, a few people have had issues, but they have been quickly resolved.
As to the gallery, I don't think the new site actually uses one. You just post straight into the thread. It is such a breeze compared to the rigamarole of posting images here. You can just load straight from a PC or straight from a phone, which what all mine are. I think all images need to be below 4Mb though, but that's a great amount of clarity and detail with that.

That would certainly be handy. I end to use my phone for photo's too. Often I have to edit them on the laptop to get them down to a smaller mb size to upload here. Could be a bit of fuss sometimes. I wonder if the new site has a data allowance for members like the gallery here?

I'll have to look around and find out more about how it's working. Still not able to log in, doesn't recognise my username and password.

Been trying to get on the new site for a while. My Username and password aren't working.

How is the gallery working? Still have to upload there and post image links?

He's turned out well. I like the choice of colours.

Yeah it's going well. Had a few spots to fill and sand back after priming, but nothing too serious.
Managed to get the first coat of paint on the undersides today.

Thanks Stephen, I enjoyed doing the Comd of this one, usually figures in general are my nemisis and I always struggle, but I took some time over this and the 4 others I did on the Snow White campaign. I wanted a heavily cammed winter smock for him, so base colour was white, then NATO black, yellow green, NATO brown and J.A green.
Hope you're getting on ok with the BoP !!

Completely agree John. Really nice build and finish on your Panther.

Really like the commanders cammo uniform too. Very nicely done.

Nice build, John. Very cool camo! Congrats on finishing.

Don’t worry if the administrators never get the gallery up and running. I will go through the tread to check who finished and assign ribbons.

Typical timing, it just let me in again lol.
Here's the finished 1948/49 Panther 2.

I was going to do a base white and block 4 tone camo, but blocs got to be a pain, so opted for an abstract 4 tone cam instead. Over the white is NATO black, neutral grey, flat green and NATO brown.

I thought I would do a reverse white wash and instead do a thinned dark yellow to represent a spring/summer wash what they may of done to tone down the stark white in the summer months.

I gave it a heavy weathering with MIG pigments and an oil wash and pin wash. The bins are spare CVRT bins and I also did some impact damage to the front and turret side, then rusted it a little.

It is an old DML kit, but went together ok with no real issues apart from the one rear idler arm. It did lack detail but in the end I think it came out ok as a what if.....

Will upload more to campaign gallery when that's sorted out.

This was a very enjoyable campaign and it has some great builds going on, will be staying tuned and watching everyone's progress.

Stay safe. John

Is there a campaign gallery set up for this yet ? It just let me for a few minutes until it went server busy again, but I couldn't see one for this campaign ?

So, I've finished the 1948 Panther 2, but sods law, the server isn't letting me into the gallery's or to even get into mine to upload there. So may have to try in an hour or so.

If anyone wants a look before the server lets me upload here, I have posted some finished pics on the new forums, in the AFV/armour section under the topic "Testing only".

Slooowly, but surely...work continues on the pod. I started adding the outside bits plus the windows. Clear orange sprayed to the clear part for the bottom of the pod.

Filling will be needed where the pipes enter the hull plus some other minor work.

Sounds good, John.

I have also made some progress on my tie fighters. In the end I decided not to mask them, but touch up the panels by hand. Quite a task.

Pictures to follow soon

Thanks Jesper, I did borrow the barrel scheme from firefly's I've seen, but I only cut rough curves from tamiya masking tape as I didn't want them to crisp and flowing, just looking like something done impromptu by the crew.
I think it will be a more used and abused look on the overall finish, with some damage to the sides and mudguard areas.
I also have a few spare CVRT bins I am going to press gang into service.

Should hopefully have it finished over the weekend and pics in the gallery.

Looks nice, John. I like the “firefly look” on the camouflage on the main gun. Looks cool.

My vote is for heavy weathering

Looking forward to see more.

Nice little Gunship you're doing there John, I hope they have some new kit in Avatar 2 when it comes out...

Your making the BoP into a very respectable ship with the improvements Stephen, those little extra scratch details always add the personal touch.

An update on my 1948 Panther 2.

I was going to do a black, dark green and grey block camo over the white, but I tried a few blocks and it was a nightmare to be honest... Lots of bleeding and the such, and it looked like it would takes years.... So binned that idea. Now going to try a different approach but with same colours.
Have 99% finished the indi link tracks ..... God I truly hate them lol... Couldn't get an exact match so have had to do some John bodges....hopefully all will be hidden once weathering and grime is applied. Still not sure whether to go for a used and abused final look or just a sympathetic used .... We will see ....

Looks interesting John.
I wasn't aware of any kits from the movie being produced. Thought the gunship was a cool design, definitely a hint of the Aliens dropship in it.

Hey Steve, In addition to this kit, there's a couple of toy kits out there as well as a drone type kit, I think. It's got a lot of things in common with the Ospry also. And I've seen an article on the net about a design to replace the Kiowa scout helicopter that has the twin articulated propellers. Avatar prophecy?

It looks like it will be really cool. When finished. What's the name of the manufacturer? Might have a look and see if I can find one.

Was hoping to get some paint on my BoP this weekend, but the bad weather has put a block on that. I have to do all my airbrushing outside at the moment, at least until we get a shed built next year. Rain and acrylic paint do not work well together!

That looks really cool John, I've actually never seen the movie. The amber glazing will look good. IIRC some F16 Falcons have a gold tint to them.

Looks nice, John. What scale is this? The tinted cockpit glazing sounds very plausible. After that’s how it will look in Avatar II.

Looking forward to see more

Hi Jesper, The scale is reportedly 1/165th. So I'll try the N Scale (~144-150th scale) figure first. Hopefully, I'll get to work on it some more soon. Lots of irons in the fire right now.
