As you can see from the condition of the box, this one has been around my stash for some time. This kit is fairly basic but nicely moulded

A little progress on the Pfalz, it is decision time, do I make it the boxed kit Ltn Von Buttlar or as the aircraft looked before von Buttlar had it as Max Hitschlerís aircraft.

Looks good, what did you do for the wood? I have that kit so I will be following along. I plan to build as the box suggests.

Tamiya Buff coat, dry brush lightly NATO Brown (coz it was handy), coat over with Tamiya Transparent Orange lightly. I did notice last night while looking for paint schemes an article saying Pfalz painted the insides grey, artistic license.

Looking good Andrew.

And a reminder that I must finish mine!

I remember painting the cockpit a pale grey/green similar to RLM02, using the WNW paint guide on their website as a reference.

Yeah, it was WNW article that said grey, Eduard instructions say wood. Paint job decided, going to try Hitschlerís colours with white stripes. If it doesnít work then I cover it up and make it von Buttlarís

Looks good with the wood.
With paint stocks running low, who's to say some weren't varnished or stained? Only needs to protect the interior and it worked for Albatros.

Looking forward to seeing the finished model.

The Pfalz moves on. The rigging holes have been drilled and the upper wing fitted. This is quite a rigid fitting and assembles correctly and aligns well without needing to be held in place. It does need three hands but got it together without too much trouble. Then assemble the undercarriage. This is not rigid and needs to be held in a jig. A quick burst of Lego and it is held rigid until set.
