Ok, ok, you guys got to me. I've got to take the plunge. (Excuse the horrible pun) I'll be making something REALLY different, a 1/400 Heller French submarine Surcouf. I wanted to post this pic but apparently it's protected. Here is my inspiration.

Welcome aboard Rodger!!
Looking forward to see it - since this is one of the few that keep on slippering through my fingers! and the only one that I saw built (near, not on the web) it was built more than 20 years ago... So a lot of improvement can be done!!!
Once again Welcome aboard!
If any help is needed just ask!!

I'm insanely jealous! I've been looking for that kit for years now. I was beginning to think it was a figment of my imagination.
Can't wait to hear about it!

Welcome GaryKato and Rodger! It's so cool to see you guys enlisted!
Rodger, that is going to be one neat build. Where did you find that kit? I can't wait to see that one all weathered up...thanks for joining us!
Okay, I'm going to resort to a little begging here. We have 49 enlisted. My goal when I (actually "we")started this campaign was to get at least 50 modelers involved. I figured that would be a respectable number considering it's my first campaign as leader.
Now, who is going to step up and be the one to make sure we reach that goal? No sense holding out any longer. The ocean may be big, but we will find you, so you might as well surender. Besides, the longer you wait, the more fun you miss out on.
Hey, how about a "lady" modeler? I don't think we have a lady in the ranks yet.
Come on...just one more enlistee...pleeeeease.

C'mon Darryl
Even if no one else enlist, this is the most successfull warship campaign ever! Just look at the "statistics":
- 49 members (so far)
- More than 49 models will be built by the end of the Campaign
- The communications are excellent (trading info, opinions, remarks)
- Humour is present
- Friends
I think you should be very proud!

Welcome Aboard GaryKato!!
So... tell us what you're making?
I'm hoping for multiple subs here. I have 3 that are fully assembled, all DML 1/700. Yushio was painted but it turned into a wrinkled congealed mess. I still have more paint to remove then try to paint again. Alfa had the top half painted but not the bottom half (I wasn't sure about the dark gray bottom). Trafalgar never painted. All need to have years worth of dust washed off, hopefully without losing periscopes.
If I get those done, then I have some partially assembled to do: Delta III, Ohio, Oscar, Los Angeles, Typhoon.
I have some totally unbuilt subs as well: Victor III, Revenge, Sierra, Benjamin Franklin.
I also have a bunch of WW2 sub kits. Essentially, I think I have about every 1/700 injection sub kit made.
How many I will get completed, I don't know. Quite frankly, if I get one done, it will be a major accomplishment for me.

Garry & Skipper,
Please don't get me wrong. I am very proud of what "WE" have accomplished thusfar...50 enlistees is just a nice neat number and I'm sure we can get another person to join us. I'm just trying to encourage as many as I can.
GaryKato,
Sounds like you have a mission there brother. Just remember, we're here to help in any way we can. Just find one you like and concentrate very hard to get it built. Thanks to John17, you won't want to miss out on the awesome ribbon we have to award! It only takes one sub!

Welcome Aboard 007! We are certainly glad to have you enlisted in this campaign. Please let us all know what you plan on building.
On another matter....
Attention "Beato"
You out there? I need you to enlist mate, so I can keep your photo in the DDD campaign gallery. Sent you a PM reference same.
Anyone know him, who could help get this message to him? He's done all the work, just hasn't enlisted.

Hi Darryl!!
I have PM beato yesterday regarding his Model, which although is a very good subject for Portuguese modelers
is posted for other reasons, in the wrong place...
007 is making also very interesting model: a 1/350 Dutch submarine HNLMS Tonjin
But 007 is our 51st member and is most welcome!!
If we are abble to enlist one more, it would be a significant number for US submarine of WWII.

Thanks Skipper. I PMd Beato also several days ago when Garry brought it to my attention. I haven't heard a peep from him yet, and I'd hate to have the photo removed, but since he's not enlisted, I don't think I'll have much choice in the long run. Besides, I can't give him an award until he does, and since he's done all the work, I would love to see him enlist so he doesn't miss out.
I'm really glad 007 joined us. Sounds like an interesting build he's working on. I'll take as many enlistees as I can get. I'd love to see a few more at least.
