Hi all,

If I keep up this speed my u-boat will soon be ready for the hunt, but I'm not there yet. Today I build most of the tower. I only need to add the safety railing (this is to be done together with the hull railing a few steps ahead in the instructions) I also already build the 20mm AA.

Time for some pics! (previous ones can be found here

Oh and the new anchor (thanks again Jess)

Cheers,
Martin

Ahem...Um...Martin....take some advice from an old married guy. When they get an account like that, it's a good bet that it's a hint that you've been spending too much time with the boys and not enough time with her.

hehehehehe :-) :-) :-) :-) :-)

Better you than me little Bro

but your theory makes sense too

Small update on the VIIC

I've been working on the sub for 2 more hours and I've finished the deck gun, the saws on the front, the railings near the flak gun (on the tower) and some detals on the deck. More pics will follow tommorow!

Looking good. I'm curious to see how you're going to paint it. I have to paint as I go along. Otherwise, I don't know how you get into those tight places after it's together. Especially the bulwark once the periscope housings and UZO are in place.

BTW: anchor looks great!

What's bulwark and what's a UZO ???

I'll take a closer look in the instructions what could be handy to paint already....Now I can still reach most parts and the tower isn't glued to the hull yet.

The bulwark is the inside wall of the bridge. The UZO (unterwasserzieloptik) is the torpedo aiming device. It's just behind the sky periscope. Special binoculars were attached to the top of it when making surface attacks.

Hope that helps.

So the UZO is the small thing between the 2 periscopes?

Thanks for the info!

BUSTED!!!!!!!

lol

Now I'm imagining Jessica exactly like on her picture in your gallery , but with a big doughroll (deegrol) in her hand, waving it dangerously around....while having a treacherous smile on her lips....

Martin... I'd keep her locked up very securely if I were you.... (the sub I mean)
I think someone wants some more attention... and I ain't talking about the sub this time..

Jessica, welkom aan boord... . Wie weet slaagt Martin er ooit wel in om je te overtuigen ook eens iets in elkaar te prutsen..!!!!!
(for the none-dutch mates:welcome aboard, maybe Martin 'll be able one day to make you build and show something too on this forum.
It's been a pleasure finaly meeting the girl Martin always brags about!!!!
