After seeing Tom's progress on his 688, I was inspired to get on the stick with my own stuff. As you can see, this is one of the Ohios I've been working on. I thought I had done a better job at filling the rings, but it would seem that would be a big "NO". I'd also hoped that the primer would fill the areas that the putty didn't, but again I was denied....

I can see now that this will not turn out looking as nice as Darryl's. While I had the primer out, I went ahead and primed the Seaview to look for seams or anything else I might have missed.
In respects to the observation area, I haven't decided if I should mask out the windows and paint the frames or just paint the whole thing over and then go back through and paint the windows black or a really dark blue.

Other than that, as you can gather, I'm unhappy with my work on this Ohio.

Oh yeah the Seaview! I wish SciFi Channel would play the reruns.

Looking good Steve. I hope to find out soon how I did on filling the rings on my Ohio. I'm sure a coat of primer will be the tell all...I just wish I could find some time to work on it! Darn homework for college is killing nearly every second of my modeling time. Of course if I would stay off the big "A" and work on the sub, it might be done by now.

Finals will be rolling around here in a couple of weeks....correct? Then it's clear sailing...unless you're taking summer courses. But hey, you should have about a three week break until then!

I would suspect that you're awash in busy work given the time of the semester.

That's part of the delay in getting my "Boise" done. I also thought that one time of fill, plus primer would fill in the rings, but NOOOOOO. I think the old expression "third time's the charm" is about right!

Yeah, Who would have thought that there would be so much shrinkage. I've looked over my other Ohio and it appears that I've filled the rings and I shouldn't have the same result, but then again, I thought the same about the first one. I guess the acid test will be in the form of the primer.

The problem is, the clock is ticking and I need to finish these up!
