The civilians are almost finished, so is the Carrier and the crew.
The scene will be a forward recce from the 3rd Canadian Inf. Div. being greeted by the people of Duiven, during the drive up to the North of Holland to seal of the remaining German forces in the West after the breakout from the Reichswald of XXX Corps.
I picked Duiven for no other reason that I used to live their, and it's in the corner of the rivers Rhine and IJssel. That area was liberated by the Canadians together with the 49th Div. who went on Westwards to liberate Arnhem, Wageningen, Ede, Utrecht, Amsterdam and so on. The Canadians went up along the East bank of the IJssel, liberating amongst others Zutphen, Deventer and up to the Afsluitdijk, which trapped the Germans in North Holland. But that is another story, not often told, about the fact that the war might have ended on paper, but not in reality. I will have to do another dio about the Hungerwinter and Operation 'Manna' now that I have had the idea in my mind. Now who makes a 1:35 Lancaster?
Anyway, here's my carrier so far. Nearly done, and I decide to add the aerial leads...

Cheers
Henk
