This is my diorama that i am submitting for the Remember Korea Campaign. As you will be able to tell from the pics...its not quite finished yet, and i would like to thank David for granting me a few days extension on an already extended campaign. I still need to do a few touch up things, and the Water Effects is in the process of drying. After the touch ups and a little more work on the water, i shoule be able to post the finished overall pics maybe late tomorrow.

As always..any and all comments welcome...

I have one question and one suggestion.
The suggestion, maybe make the blood around the gunshot wound on the driver, darker, not so bright red.
The question, what's that white stuff in the ditch?

Let's see....there are a lot of thing I like about this diorama....the barbed wire looks excellent....what did you use for it?. The road, the grass, the bushes....looks all very good!

The jeep looks cool. The figures however look a bit to light. The painting itself is good, far better than my own figures, but the green looks too light.

I also have the same question as David....what's the white stuff in the water?

Mary, it looks good.

althought i have few suggestions

- the large MG on the shoulders of one guy looks totaly black, some metal drybrush could do.

- rifles are all in one wood colour, that cant be :-) i've seen lots of rifles in local musem and cant remember to see two of them look the same colour some washes should do or thin drybrush

- as im no figure expert i wont talk much about the figs except the hair on the guy with large MG looks a bit odd on front, maybe its the pic.

- i agree with david about the blood colour, it should be much darker (cherry red) and if the guy is shot he should be leaning forward. also the jeep run into the ditch, the driver (at least him) should have scratches from banging his head on the steering wheel.

ground work is absolutely superb!!!

great overall sister.i know the white effect on the water will be Ok when dry and IMHO the blood looks good. I think such an experienced nurse like YOU who met many bloody conditions can simulate blood good enough :-)

Overall.... fantastic!!!

Quite ironic that they were heading in the direction of the MASH station when they were ambushed!

If you'll allow me a few nit-picks...

1. Consider the trajectory and the calibre of the shot fired... depending on these the bullet may have exited the back of the driver... there would be blood on the back of his shirt and splatter on the vehicle and whoever was sitting behind the driver... maybe I'm overanalysing the situation? :-)
2. The barbwire fence would definitely have sprung when the jeep ploughed into it...

Once again, great dio... I love the irony!

I think the dio is great. Not being a Korean War expert I originally thought the uniforms were too green but then the other day I saw some color footage on TV and they did use an odd color of green during that time.

If it's not too late maybe you can move the helmet of the driver so it isn't sitting so straight on his head. That way it will make him look a little more confused. Perhaps you can run a small bead of blood from the temple with his crooked helmet.
