Sorry about the fuzzy photo. I will be getting a different camera in a few days.

Duh! WHile cleaning up the stuff laying around when I took the photo, I found the piece that goes over the front of the hull, (The "V" shaped strip that joins the upper and lower hulls together) I knocked it off while taking the model out for the photo. I guess I had better start using more glue!

I also left off the tow cables, as I had some problems with the lower part of one of the tracks. I am thinking of making a "Stuck in the mud" display base, with the crew hooking the tow cables to another tank. I figured if I glued them on, it would make it a lot harder to go this route.

(Boy, the way I build 1/72 scale tracks, I may have to make "Stuck in the mud" my standard display method!)

Counting the posts with pictures in it in this thread, I say twenty-three out of ninety-plus managed to make it all the way from the CFE line to the English Channel in 2 months and 26 days of hard but glorious fighting for the Rodina. I have yet to check the campaign journal entries just in case others haven't posted in the parade thread. A detailed statistic (e.g. planes, tanks, ships built; type of plane, ship, tank built; etc) will be made once the Central Committee on Numbers can be pried off from the newly "liberated" cases of French champagne found in Marseilles. :-)

Hi GIBeregovoy, I am very sorry to say that I won't be able to finish this campaign. The reason is - while I was working on my ZIS-42, got it all painted up - the base color, interior, even some weathering, the unthinkable happened. I was putting the model back on my glass shelf for the night, and I thought the glass door was open since I just took out another model from the shelf ... well it wasn't. You can guess what happened next - the model slammed into the glass with all the force of my hand and dropping about 30 cm to the floor broke into dozens of little pieces. Don't know how I didn't see the glass there... my parents say I was just too tired from working on models for AMPS, I guess they were right. I got pretty angry and upset over this and haven't touched the model for a week - didn't even pick up the pieces from the floor. Well, now most of the damage has been fixed but still no weathering and too late for the campaign.

No problem Tovarisch Pavel. I, too, wasn't able to finish - which is an even bigger disappointment considering I'm the campaign manager of this campaign hehehehe Hence, the lack of a recon element (my BRDM-2), resulting to massive casualties in this campaign (out of 90+ divisions, 20+ survived) hehehehe :-)

comrade komissar, when will the awards ceremony for our glorious forces be?
