1⁄700USS Mount Hood

David J. Salvin has a soft spot for the USS Mount Hood and this is his latest build of it. The model is Part of the line from Ships and Co. David sent his thoughts along on the model; The basic molding is passable, but upgrading the square molded doors for PE ones is a great improvement. The kit lacks decals or PE which is a HUGE detriment to the overall fit and finish of the kit. However, Ships and Co does make a decal set for this and other ships (sold separately). The instructions are passable, but merely a couple of colour pictures of the unpainted and assembled kit (with a few cranes and booms missing). Overall, a fair kit with a great deal of detailing and upgrading potential.

Nice job!I served onboard USS Detroit for 3 1/2 years.....a similar type of vessel. Not a glamorous type of warship, but a necessary one. Thanks for your interest in such a ship
