Nanofabrica, an Israeli tech firm, makes a 3D printer that prints at extremely fine levels of scale. The Tera 250 combines semiconductor lithography and advanced optics together with 3D printing. While not for the hobbyist, it does show what kit manufacturers may be able to achieve once they start investing in these kind of systems.
